Orienteering and resilience for our fourth SLX Group conference

“I cannot tell you what a pleasure it was for my fellow directors and me to host the fourth SLX Group annual conference. Once again, the day and evening were a huge success, great fun, and so good to see everyone from the company in one place and enjoying themselves and chatting to colleagues.

Our very own ‘Head of Happy’ Kate Pullen did a great job organising the event and everyone’s logistic plans to get us all together. Colleagues joined us from Abu Dhabi, Hamburg (Germany), Vigo (Spain), Szczecin (Poland), Newcastle (England), and Edinburgh (Scotland).

The day was spent with a bit of orienteering and resilience, as determined groups overcame map reading without using Google Maps, and the great British weather which became quite moist at times! Very few injuries, lots of laughs, and everyone made it home.

Home being the hotel on the Bowood Estate in Wiltshire, southwest England, a lovely old fashion hotel and spa.

In the evening, after a brief overview of our business, we had the pleasure of celebrating Dorota Wisniewska’s 20-year anniversary with our company. Dorota, who is our Business Representative in Poland and the Baltics, is a fantastic ambassador of our business. She fights for all business in her territories, is determined and knowledgeable, as well as personable and fun, and shows no sign of slowing down.

We also celebrated our 90th anniversary as a business, following on from the bubbly celebrations at IMPA in September. A great milestone to have achieved.

The evening continued with a huge table for dinner, with 40 odd places. Delicious food, wonderful company and the odd glass of wine. Followed by cocktails and dancing. A very good evening.

It is a privilege to lead this organisation, full of lovely colleagues.”
