Welcome to Sami Khan and new Simplex regional office in Asia Pacific

SLX Group has appointed Sami Khan to be the Vice President of our newly-registered company in Malaysia, Simplex (Asia Pacific) Sdn. Bhd.

Sami Khan has recently joined our group to be the Vice President and resident Director for our new Simplex regional office based in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Simplex (Asia Pacific) Sdn. Bhd..  Sami will be reporting directly to the SLX Group Board for all commercial and technical matters, as he takes on the responsibility of growing our customer base in East Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania, and will soon start to build a local team to guarantee our prompt response to local enquiries. 

Our new office is in the Etiqa Twin Towers, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, a stone’s throw from the renowned Petronas Towers. Our warehouse is going to be transferred to Johor Bahru, just over the border with Singapore, thus enabling us to continue to efficiently support our customers in Singapore with fast deliveries. 

Sami has extensive experience in the marine sector, particularly in the oil & gas industry, and has a proven track record of successfully managing and growing businesses. With an academic background in Physics and Global Leadership Development, he has worked in international business development, contract negotiation, and sales and marketing including at mergers and acquisitions level. Currently managing his own marine seismic data processing and analysis business as founder and CEO of Azimuth GeoSolutions, Sami’s entrepreneurial skills and energetic approach to tackling new challenges led him to take on the new responsibilities with a spark in his eye.

Having spent a week in our UK head office, Sami has had extensive conversations with our management team and introductory meetings with everyone within the different departments. We will be working together with a time difference of 7-8 hours, so it’s important to establish working relationships on a more personal level. 

Everyone was greatly appreciative of meeting him in person so early on in our journey together. We also had the opportunity to enjoy lighter moments with him as well as the delicious layered cakes he brought from Malaysia!
